Beach Bus
All aboard the Wells Beach Bus!
The Wells Beach Bus service has replaced the Wells Harbour Railway. A fully electric bus operates daily between Easter and October, joined by a 1951 Leyland Tiger open-top vintage bus in high summer and on holiday weekends.
The miniature train may be sorely missed, but the vintage bus is full of charm and character. The open-top means you can still feel the wind in your hair as you travel to the beach, providing a fun and memorable experience.

The electric bus operates daily between Easter & October, and lowers to kerb height with an access ramp. It has been ‘wrapped’ to match the vintage bus.
The 1951 Leyland Tiger open-top bus only runs in summer and on holiday weekends, and unfortunately does not have the ability to lower to kerb height.
The buses take passengers from the south bus stop in town by the football club car park, to the roundabout down by the beach car park.
Park at the Wells Town Car Park on Freeman Street. It’s a pay & display car park. From the car park, a path takes you past the skate park and football club to the Beach Bus stop. It is a short 3 minute walk. The bus service will take you to the beach (fares apply).

The service has a flexible timetable to accommodate demand and weather conditions, but typically runs daily from 11am-4pm.
The board at the south bus stop details how many buses are operating and what time the service will run.
Dogs are welcome on board both buses but must be kept on a lead and off the seats.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The bus service is operated & managed by Holkham.
