Welcome aboard the Wells Beach Bus!
The much-loved miniature beach train has been replaced by not one, but two beach buses, a pioneering electric bus and a vintage open-top bus. Both buses are not just for you, your friends and family, but your furry friends too!

As of summer 2022 the much-loved miniature beach train has been replaced by a beach bus.
The Wells Beach Bus service consists of 2 buses and connects the town and beach, approximately a mile apart.
The main bus is fully electric providing a transport solution which is both pioneering and sustainable. The bus lowers to kerb height with an access ramp to accommodate accessible needs.
A 1951 Leyland Tiger, a vintage open-top bus, accompanies the electric bus on busy days and holidays. The vintage bus adds additional capacity and a memorable experience.
Dogs are allowed on board both buses.
The service offers single fares only, payable by card, and runs from April to October, operating a route from the football club car park to the roundabout at the beach end of Beach Road.
It provides safe passage between the beach and town, especially important during school holidays when the Wells Beach car park is full by mid-morning.
The bus service is operated and managed by the Holkham Estate.
Timetable and Fares
The summer service generally runs between 10:00am and 6:00pm, however the service will remain flexible to accommodate demand and weather conditions, rather than following a set timetable.
Information boards at both stations provide daily updates.
Waiting times between pickups are approximately 20 minutes.
