Wells Maltings is located on Staithe Street, part of a delightful network of narrow streets, old alleys and yards that make up Wells town.
The busy shopping street hums with holidaymakers browsing the traditional shops selling gifts, homeware, clothing, old fashioned sweets, flowers, artwork and local produce, including the famous Arthur Howell Butchers.
Staithe Street leads you up from the Quay to the Buttlands, the pretty green square surrounded by lovely lime trees and handsome houses where you’ll find The Crown and The Globe.
Wells Maltings is a vibrant cultural & community hub set in the heart of the town. The venue features a Visitor Information Centre, Heritage Centre, state-of-the-art theatre/cinema, café bar, modern art gallery and a series of community spaces available to hire.
The centre is run by a small team of staff, supported by a team of passionate local volunteers.
Following the restoration & repair of the original Grade II listed Maltings building, the site has been transformed into an exciting destination for locals & visitors alike, offering a year-round programme of theatre, film, music, talks, exhibitions & events, as well as classes and community activities.

Wells Maltings is a charitable organisation that supports and promotes culture and entertainment in the community.
The Visitor Information Centre and Box Office is the place to come for friendly and helpful advice and information on everything the town and the North Norfolk area has to offer. It is staffed by passionate & knowledgeable local volunteers.
The centre stocks maps and walking trails of the local area, leaflets for many local attractions, books all about Wells, gifts, cards and much more.

The Auditorium, supported by the Handa Foundation, houses a cinema with a state-of-the-art sound system & projector, and a theatre space with full theatre-spec lighting rig and tiered seating.
Located in the Grade II listed part of the building, this versatile space has fully retractable seating, opening up the floor area for standing concerts, parties, exhibitions and more.
It has fully accessible seating in the front row and a hearing loop is available. There is also a backstage area with dressing rooms, showers and toilets.
This space is available to hire for private film screenings, business conferences, book launches and birthday parties etc.

The Wells Maltings Café Bar is located on bustling Staithe Street, not far from the Quay. Watch the world go by as you enjoy home-made food and a taste of North Norfolk.
Serves hot & cold drinks, smoothies, beers, wine & spirits, cakes, scones & pastries, breakfast, sarnies, toasted paninis, jacket potatoes & soup.
The seasonal menus champion local ingredients, suppliers, distillers, brewers and Fairtrade principles.
Open 7 days a week 10am-4pm and into the evenings during show nights.

The Handa Gallery has gained a regional reputation for exhibitions of art, sculpture and crafts, hosting around 8-10 events annually.
Exhibitions tend to run for a minimum of 10 days, up to 4 weeks, but this can vary.
The gallery is open 7 days a week 10am to 4pm. Entry is usually free and open to everyone.
